Bible Verse of the Week:

Job 15:9
“What do you know that we don’t? What do you understand that is not clear to us?”
Actions:
1. Make sure that you know your mission statement and remind your coaches, teams, and players of the goals and mission of your program.
2. Is your program built on developing players and building up self-esteem and confidence? A program where everyone plays? If yes, then let it be known, so there is no confusion.
3. Is your program built on winning titles and championships as your first priority? Maybe developing players for college scholarships? These programs typically play their very best players and some players rarely see the court. Winning is the top priority.
4. Maybe you want to be a highly competitive program (winning championships and helping players get scholarships) where everyone plays and the building up of others is your top priority above winning. If yes, then do it!
Thoughts to Ponder:
It is important to be clear in communicating with coaches, parents, and players the type of program you are and who you want to be. Be crystal clear on your mission statement and the bible verse (or theme/characteristic) that drives your program. Once you know who you are and who you want to be, then go out and do it! Remember, you can’t be all things to all people. Choose wisely.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to know and communicate the mission or purpose of our program and not lose sight in You and who we want to be like. Thanks be to God. Amen
